Fabricating sheet metal can be achieved in a variety of ways, the most common of which is the use of brake press technology, of which, Richards Sheet Metal have in abundance, with two high end brake press facilities.

Sheet metal fabrication is the process by which most metal components are formed, such as brackets, enclosures & electrical boxes. More often than not these components are formed with the assistance of CNC brake press technology, as this ensures a quick fabrication on laser cut arts for our customers.

Sheet metal is shaped when it is forced between two tools by a brake press, the top tool being referred to as the punch & the bottom tool known as the die. The bend angle is predominantly determined by the depth of the punch within this die.

Richards Sheet Metal have access to two of the most highly sophisticated brake press machines on todays market, one Bystronic & one Amada, of which, both can offer versatility & variable volume. This ensures that we are now capable of large volume sheet metal fabrication, giving us a major advantage over our competitors.

We can service all your folding requirements & our press brakes allow us to form simple shapes in addition to intricately folded laser cut parts. Richards Sheet Metal are also able to offer a rolling service that utilises our traditional rolling machine.

Bending, Folding & Rolling Sheet Metal

At Richards Sheet Metal we hold an extensive library of tools, capable of a wide range of folding & bending. This library has enabled us to form laser cut components with a greater accuracy than ever before, & to higher degree of quality than we have previously achieved.

The folding that we can achieve can range from the standard ninety degree bends, deep folds for enclosures & hemming. Richards Sheet Metal are also capable of radius folding & radius rolling, all of which are carried out to professional standard.
